Meet Harout G. Keosian

Harout G. Keosian is one of the founding Partners of Keosian Law LLP. Prior to the partnership, Mr. Keosian operated as the principal attorney of Keosian Law Group, APC which he established in 2009. At Keosian Law LLP, Mr. Keosian specializes in personal injury, property damage, insurance bad faith and business litigation, fighting to protect consumer rights against big insurance companies.

Harout G. Keosian is a founding partner of Keosian Law LLP and one of California's most experienced consumer-rights trial attorneys. Admitted to the State Bar of California in 2005 after graduating from Southwestern Law School, he built his career representing individuals, families, and small businesses against insurance carriers, large corporations, and at-fault parties who refuse to pay what they owe. Before founding the firm, he served as an associate attorney at a respected plaintiff's law firm in Los Angeles, where he first joined as a law clerk and quickly distinguished himself through his command of complex civil procedure and his courtroom presence.

In 2009, Mr. Keosian opened Keosian Law Group, APC to give injured Californians a more focused, high-touch alternative to the volume-driven plaintiff's firms that dominated the local market. That practice grew steadily, and in 2014 it became Keosian Law LLP — a boutique trial firm built around a simple promise: every client receives the strategic attention of a senior partner from intake through verdict. Today, Mr. Keosian's practice spans personal injury, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, residential and commercial property damage, insurance bad faith, and business litigation. He has personally tried, settled, or otherwise resolved hundreds of contested matters across Los Angeles County and throughout Southern California.

Mr. Keosian is widely regarded as a leading voice in first-party insurance litigation in California. He has built a reputation for refusing to accept lowball offers from major carriers, for forcing insurers to honor the policies they sold, and for taking cases to trial when the carrier's last, best offer still falls short of what his client deserves. His insurance bad-faith practice routinely involves delayed claim handling, unreasonable claim denials, underpayment of covered losses, failure to investigate, and the manipulation of policy language to defeat coverage. He uses California's strong policyholder protections — including Insurance Code section 790.03, the Cumis doctrine, and Brandt fee recovery — to recover not only the contract benefits owed but also tort damages, attorney's fees, and, where the facts support it, punitive damages.

A significant portion of Mr. Keosian's docket consists of catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. He represents victims of serious motor vehicle collisions, commercial trucking crashes, premises liability incidents, dog attacks, defective products, and dangerous conditions of public property. In every case he insists on early, aggressive investigation — locking down witness statements, preserving electronic data, securing surveillance footage, and retaining qualified accident reconstruction, biomechanical, medical, life-care planning, and economic experts long before mediation. That early, trial-ready posture is what consistently moves opposing carriers off their initial reserves and into the seven- and eight-figure range.

Mr. Keosian also brings a perspective most plaintiff's lawyers never develop. He is a licensed California real estate broker, which gives him an unusually deep working knowledge of property valuation, construction defects, restoration costs, lease disputes, and the underwriting practices of property insurers. That dual licensure has made him a sought-after lawyer for property-damage claims involving high-value residential, mixed-use, and small commercial properties — including fire, smoke, water, wind, theft, vandalism, and earthquake losses. His clients benefit from a lawyer who understands both the legal and the economic anatomy of a damaged property, and who can speak fluently with appraisers, public adjusters, and contractors on his client's behalf.

In the firm's business and commercial practice, Mr. Keosian counsels and litigates on behalf of California business owners in contract disputes, partnership disputes, real-estate transactions, lease conflicts, and consumer-facing commercial litigation. He approaches these matters the same way he approaches personal injury cases: with thorough investigation, disciplined pleadings, aggressive discovery, and a clear-eyed view of trial economics from the very first conversation.

Beyond his case work, Mr. Keosian is committed to the legal community and to the city he serves. He is a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, the Consumer Attorneys of California, the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Armenian Bar Association. He served as an elected member of the Encino Neighborhood Council from 2008 to 2010 and has sat on the boards of multiple community and charitable organizations across the San Fernando Valley. He frequently provides pro bono guidance to community members navigating insurance disputes after fires, floods, and other property losses.

Mr. Keosian leads the firm with a clear philosophy: prepare every case for trial, treat every client like family, and never let an insurance company define the value of a human life or a damaged home. When he is not in the office, Mr. Keosian enjoys spending time with his family, following sports and politics, and pursuing his interests in cars, travel, and cigars.
